Hearty Steak and Tater Soup



1lb boneless beef round steak
1lb small red potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch slices (4 cups)
2medium stalks celery, chopped (1 cup)-----------------(I skip this)
2medium carrots, chopped (1 cup)
1medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
2cloves garlic, finely chopped
1tablespoon beef bouillon granules
1/2teaspoon pepper
1jar (6 oz)  sliced mushrooms, undrained
2cartons (32 oz each) beef flavored broth
1/2cup water
1/2cup all-purpose flour
 
 
 Spray 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Cut beef into 1x1/4-inch pieces. In cooker, mix beef and remaining ingredients except water and flour.
 
 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours.
 
 In small bowl, mix water and flour; gradually stir into soup until blended. Increase heat setting to High; cover and cook about 30 minutes or until slightly thickened.
